Who is vanopdorp.photography?
My name is Jacob VanOpdorp, and I am a travel and outdoor brand photographer based in Denver, Colorado. During the first lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic, I found my passion for photography. I started taking photos with my old Sony A6000 and found what I wanted to do as my career. After a few months of shooting I decided to switch to Canon instead of Sony.
I love to shoot all forms of photography, but prefer nature photography, which I consider to be landscapes, wildlife, and astrophotography. My biggest ambition as a travel photographer is to work with camera and outdoor brands to help them stand out on their social media platforms.
One of my favorite parts about photography is that it allows me to see my progress. There are always improvements that can be made and so much that can be done to a single image. There are always different ways to edit the same photo in order to give it a different mood or feel. There will always be room for improvement in this career and that is what pushes me to keep shooting and practicing new and challenging techniques.
