My name is Jacob VanOpdorp…

And I’ve been a photographer for the past 6 years and recently took on the title “Adventure Photographer”. Discovering photography has completely changed my life. Before, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life, but now all I want to do is climb, go on adventures with my camera and friends, and showcase the beauty of the planet that we’re slowly losing to climate change and human greed.

I feel I’ve always been drawn towards a camera, but truly discovered my passion for photography during the first Covid-19 lockdown, which seems to be the only good thing that came out of it. Once I started to bring my camera on camping trips, I quickly fell in love with photographing the beauty of Mother Nature. From landscapes to wildlife to the night sky and beyond, I started on the path to becoming a full-time photographer.

Now, 6 years later, I’ve traveled all over my home state of Colorado, visited 3 countries in Europe, and got to visit one of the last pristine locations on planet Earth, Antarctica. Not only have I had the privilege of traveling around the world, but I’ve also found more things I’m passionate about, like climbing, and met some amazing people—all thanks to photography.

“You don’t take a photograph, you make it.”
